Transposing EU Procurement Directives
The 2014 EU Procurement Directives came into force at EU level on 17 April 2014. EU member states now have 2 years to implement them in national legislation. This followed a successful lobbying campaign by the UK government and our EU partners to negotiate a simpler, more flexible regime of procurement rules.

The EU Public Contracts Directive (2014)
The Public Contracts Directives set out the legal framework for public procurement. This guidance note covers the new Public Contracts Directive which will apply when contracting authorities seek to acquire supplies, services, or works (e.g. civil engineering or building).
A Cabinet Office Consultation Document - UK Transposition of New EU Procurement Directives Public Contracts Regulations 2015
This document focuses primarily on the new Public Sector Directive, and there will be subsequent consultation documents covering the draft implementing regulations for the new Utilities Directive and the new Concessions Directive. Many of the provisions in the Public Sector Directive are analogous to provisions in the other two Directives. We intend to use this consultation to cover those generic matters that are applicable to all three Directives. Consulting on them here will allow greater focus on matters unique to the Utilities and Concessions Directives.
